  1. You're such a drama queen! Just keep running (faster) it'll never catch up.

  2. Drama queen? Nah, just a frustrated B-movie actor.

  3. LOL! Damn right! We wouldn't want GUS to have to replace you at Ragnar or anything.

  4. I'll be cool for Ragnar! It's just a hint right now. Taking it easy the next couple of days.

  5. Bummer! Take care of your achilles! I agree with Tony...stretch and ice. Also, give yourself a little break.

    Funny video...I was amuzed:)

  6. That bites. Still thinking Lake Youngs Ultra?

  7. I should be okay for Lake Youngs. At this point, it's just a little soreness. Going to back off for a few days & stretch and ice, as suggested.

  8. Okay, this is not advice. I'm just saying that I fractured my heel last May. Even after wearing a walking boot for 3 months, my heel hurt every single day. Actually, every minute of every day for 11 months after it healed. Until.....wait for it.....I bought a pair of Newtons. Hey, I'm just saying....

  9. I came here from here.

Give yourself time. Your marathon was two weeks ago. Don't mess with it. One really needs to recover and not allow a twinge to morph into something chronic.

As to shoes, I happened to post something today that mentions the Newton. If you've not had chronic issues, I wouldn't switch to a more forefoot stride. I had major injury issues in the past, with two 3-month hiatuses for two completely different injuries in an eight-month period, but overcame them with some PT and slight stride adjustments.

If you do switch, there seem to be new, less-engineered and cheaper (than Newtons) shoes worth a look, as well as Newtons.

  10. LOL - love the video. That sucks about the soreness. I wish that I had some awe inspiring advice, but I don't.
