Weekly Review

This week was one for the personal record books (I know, *yawn*). I ended up with my longest run ever and my highest weekly mileage ever. The week was capped with a group 8-miler during which I felt very strong, with surprisingly springy legs. If all goes according to plan, next week will be my first 50+ mileage week ever. Next week will end with a race I'm training through (Mercer Island Half Marathon). I may run a solo half marathon the day before, so I can simulate "marathon fatigue" during the race.

Here's how this week shaped up:

Runs: 6
Miles: 47
Long: 18
Time: 6:39:20

The body is holding up very well. I felt a little leg fatigue (and some hip flexor soreness) for a day or two after Monday's 18-miler, but was fine after that.

All systems go! Knock on wood!

Have a great week, everyone!

  2. I've known your website via Julie's blog. Congrats for the Mercer Island Half Marathon which you are going to run: it's a race in support of a social cause.

  4. I just noticed, are you a Brooks ID member? I've thought about signing up since I've only ever ran in Brooks shoes.

  5. Yes, Adam, I was selected last month. You have to apply every year (this was my first year applying). If I was you, I'd definitely give it a shot at the end of the year.

  6. Hi Colin,
We "met" last week in Brandon's chat room. Good job on the 18 miler. You ran it pretty fast. I ran 18 today too. 16 at 8:45 and the last two at race pace - 7:57. I was thinking of starting a blog, would you recommend blogstop.com? Any other good templates out there?

  7. Hi Chris! Thanks for stopping by! Nice job on your 18-miler. As far as blogs go, I've only used blogspot, and find it easy to use. I know some people who prefer Wordpress, but I don't have any experience with it. I'll look forward to reading your blog when you launch one.

Wow, back to back half marathons!?! Sounds like fun. Good luck, and let me know how it goes.
