Art

To continue the “Non-Running Talk on a Running Blog” and risk losing everyone's interest, I thought I'd post a few entries from an old sketch book, along with an oil painting I did in 1991 (apologies for those of you who have seen them on Facebook).

I do all of my illustration work on the computer, but I used to draw and paint quite a bit. Finding these (while cleaning my office) has rekindled the urge to pick up the pencils and brushes again. Hopefully I'll follow through with that desire in 2011. Enjoy!

  1. The lioness and especially the matronly lady are incredible! It's definitely time to shut-down your computer and break out your art supplies!

  2. Thanks Mark. What amazed me when I looked at these was how unbelievably fast the years have passed, and how I've let this ability lapse, even while doing my "day job."
    Got to change that...

  3. I hate guys like you. Talented artist, washboard abs, perfect family. Next thing you know, you'll have cured cancer and created world peace. Whatever.

  4. I love you too, Chris.
Honestly, I haven't done those things. I've only cured heart disease and created peace between my daughters (for the moment).

  5. Oh, and another thing Chris...between you and me, only one of us is able to run...so I have to take solace in SOMETHING. And when I CAN run, you're faster.

  6. Colin - Until Chris' next marathon he is faster than you only owing only to his self-imposed suicide pact should he not BQ. However, once his legs figure out that his motivational machinations are merely hyperbolic you'll show him who's who! ;-)

  7. Can I join the Chris hate club too?

Seriously, those were VERY good. That painting was amazing.
